Zoe's desire: Chapter 1

...What things soever ye desire...
As the human body has many members, so does the body of Christ. To be appointed by God to fulfill purpose is a privilege. As every product has a purpose, so is every believer. Discovering our purpose should be our priority in life. The purpose of salt, for example, is to add taste. If it cannot achieve this, the bin will be its final resting place. For some product, a repair may be initiated so it can fulfill its primary function. In like manner, we have different purpose in God and fulfilling that purpose should be our primary focus because every other thing is secondary.

But many a time, we choose to go the other way, the way of our personal purpose. We plan to achieve these purposes even at the detriment of our souls. We do not care. We damn the consequences. We forget that God wants to give us every good thing. We forget that he wants to give us everything we desire.

Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them Mark 11:24

We tend to desire with our five earthly senses and forget that we look not at the things that are seen but that which is unseen knowing that what our five senses show us is only fleeting.

18 While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal 2 Corinthians 4:18

The photo above is a photo of me during my graduation, November 2nd, 2023. I desired this for so long but every attempt at it failed. During the various attempts I abandoned my Lord and my God on the way, but because of who he is, he chased me with his unconditional love regardless. A love I do not deserve. He chased me without imposing. I will never know anyone so patient.

My miracle came when I began to live outside the desire for it, when I no longer made it live in me. I do not mean to say desires are not good but that, a desire should not become what defines you because as a child of God, nothing you achieve in this fleeting life will change how God defines you. There's no updating or upgrading to God's love. It is just constant. Thus, our focus should be on how God sees us and not how the society does, because before God, we are his predestined people, the ones he foreknew.

For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.
Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified Romans 8:29-30

I encourage you beloved of God to lay the foundation of your desires on him, even, let him be the architect of your life because he is actually the most trustworthy one you would ever know.
