The Safest Place To Complain

Don't trust anyone,

not even your best friend,

and be careful what you say

to the one you love. Micah 7:5 (CEV)

Psalms 55:17-23, Matthew 11:28-30, Job 19:19

There are times when you find yourself in situations where you need to unburden the heaviness of your heart. You begin to feel the need to talk to someone.

Someone who would understand you and probably share in your pain and most times you end up talking to your friends and loved ones–Those you think you trust.

An example of such situation could be when you want people to know you have a strong bond with your friend but like Peter, they deny you.

They deny you because they don't want to be associated with you because of what they know about you–How it can affect their reputation. They value their reputation more than your friendship with them and they end up taking the easiest way out–They run.

As for you, you are left perplexed, struck down and left to bear the pain of their denial.

2 Corinthians 4:8-10.

Denial is one character that is prevalent with humans and you can't really blame us because it's our nature. Our nature is survival mode.

What if you knew a place and someone who lives outside the survival realm? What if you knew the safest place to complain? A place where you can go unburden without it ever being used against you? Without it ever brought to rememberance even if circumstances warrant it?

Rejoice and be glad because such a place exists. That place is in God. The safest place to complain is where God lives and I'm glad to show you where He lives. God lives in His Word. Come to His place and pour out your heart. Tell Him how mad you are about what happened, tell Him how you would want to revenge and hear Him say, Leave it all to Me.

Exodus 14:14

Sharing with friends is not a totally bad idea but considering we live in a world enveloped in Self, you should know your limits. Know when you have told them enough. Know when to stop as it is unwise to trust in man.

The only being you can fully unburden to is your Maker–The one who knows all men. The Righteous Judge, the one who defends you, the one who loves you unconditionally and is ready to go all out for you.

I admonish you to be bold and come before Him and open your mouth wide, let it out, let it burst forth like a broken dam because He knows how to handle that situation and give you peace at the end of it all.

Put your trust in God.
Jehovah is trustworthy.
Only Him deserves that title.
