Learning to Live an Easy Life

From a human standpoint, I would name this week, hectic. But since I stopped leaning on my own understanding and started acknowledging the Lord, my life, has become easy.

In all your ways know and acknowledge and recognize Him,
And He will make your paths straight and smooth [removing obstacles that block your way]. Proverbs 3:6 (AMP)

I do not intend to rule out the fact that I encounter some trying moments. Of course they come, but I have learned to approach them better.

By the Spirit, I see the hand of God in everything I do, and whatever happens to me nowadays, I know it happened to work for my good because I love God and I am called according to His purpose and I can't tell you how so much this has changed my life.

And we know [with great confidence] that God [who is deeply concerned about us] causes all things to work together [as a plan] for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to His plan and purpose. Romans 8:28
Every morning of my life, I commit every step I would take for the day into the hands of my Father and He has never failed to look out for my interest. I let Him take the lead while I follow. In my mind's eyes, I see Him leading the way and when the day finally draws to a close, and I reflect on the happenings of the day, I see why this and that happened and why this and that didn't.

A case study is this week. My week was graced by heaven itself I must confess and I invite you to take a peep into the summary of how my week went:

I love attending the 7am service on Sundays but I woke up late on Sunday morning and the weather wasn't helping matters. It looked like the sky was about to cry as it was gloomy and moody.
Seeing there's no way I could make the first service without missing the Word—I love to listen to the Preached Word from the beginning and I don't like missing the praise session. I felt so lazy to go to church and I almost didn't.

Then I remembered the word of God is more interesting when shared with brethren. So I decided to attend the second service. I contemplated going with an umbrella for a while then I resolved to go without it even though the rain was drizzling already. When I finally got to church, I had the time of my life and I was glad I was there.

not forsaking our meeting together [as believers for worship and instruction], as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more [faithfully] as you see the day [of Christ’s return] approaching. Hebrews 10:25 (AMP)

After the service, I went to the market and immediately after I got home, the clouds gave way for the lingering rain. It was a cold night.

During the course of the week, I left home very early one of the days to a destination I have never visited. While in the bus, I had the urge to use the restroom but it was as if the bus was told to not move faster than it was moving and there was no site for convenience in view. The bus even went slo----wer and then started turning off and on in the middle of the road. I was like, Seriously, oh my goodness! Then I remembered that all things work for my good, then I started to thank God for the way the bus was acting. Even though I had a momentary pressing need. Minutes later, the bus finally got to the bus stop and I hurried down. I quickly scouted the area to look for where I could use and I ended up using somewhere not so comfortable.

But what amazed me when I got out of the place was the first person I asked for directions. This person was going exactly the same way I was. The same street even and I was like, God, is this how you do?

I was delighted. This person took it upon himself to make sure we got a tricycle and the least I could do was offer to pay the fare but he refused and instead paid for both of us. He was Godsent and a gentleman. He asked for nothing in return. I was overwhelmed by his kindness.

A people whom I have not known serve me.

Fast-forward to Thursday, I ended up boarding a bus I dreaded as the bus was overloaded with people and goods. To worsen the situation, it started to rain. On a normal day, I won't do this, but on this day, I just had to compromise.

While in the bus, I prayed more than I talked. The passenger by my left didn't help matters too. I just had to tolerate him. The rain fell for quite a while then stopped. I kept reminding myself of how all things work for my good because I am a Godlover and a called according to purpose.

Hours later, the bus arrived a bus park and it was as if the rain knew, so, it started again! The driver told us we have arrived at our destination. But the passengers complained that he had to go into a fuel station as it was raining, else they wouldn't alight from the bus.

We all watched the driver turn off the engine, opened the door, and scurried off into a mechanic's shade. It was funny to me though, but some other passengers found it annoying and they shouted angrily at the driver but he paid them no attention. He hid in the shade for a while and as he was coming back, I was getting down. I went to the same shade he hid in.

On getting to the bus, an argument broke out between the bus driver and a passenger. As the quarrel lasted, another female passenger got down and joined me where I was. Before you know, almost half the passengers were in the rain quarrelling with the driver. The same rain they didn't want to enter.

Humans can be so complicated sometimes. Only God can fully understand us.

This lasted for about 10 minutes before the passengers and bus driver finally entered the bus and sped away.

Thinking the rain had subsided, I too hurried into the weather since I still had a long journey ahead of me and I didn't know the place, but the rain started again, heavier than before.

Again, the first person I asked for directions also went out of his way, hid me under a shade, went to call a bike and told him where I was going. I thanked him and left on the bike.

You might say I was just lucky to meet good people, but this couldn't be coincidences as I met these persons in two entirely different regions with a distance of about 330km apart.

God actually placed these people on my path specifically. They had to be there when I was there. At those particular moments, they couldn't be anywhere else other than where they were at that time. They where in time. Our God is a God of strategy. Life is so much easier when you allow God do the leading.

It's okay to make your plans but never forget to submit your plans like a resume to the One who made you. The One who knows your tomorrow from today. The One in whom there's no shadow of turning. He sees your beginning and your end from where He is.

Whatever is good and perfect comes down to us from God our Father, who created all the lights in the heavens. He never changes or casts a shifting shadow.
James 1:17 (NLT)

I urge you to practice acknowledging the Lord in all your ways and soon it would become second nature.

The place I visited is called Igarra. A town in Akoko-Edo Local Government Area of Edo State, Nigeria. It's a town fenced in by rocks. It is a beautiful place to be. The rocky views will blow your mind and make you wonder on the might and creativity of our God.

Our God is the Grand Designer!
