The God Who Goes Before Me
9 A man’s mind plans his way [as he journeys through life],
But the Lord directs his steps and establishes them. Proverbs 16:9 (AMP)
God certainly did.
From a standpoint of experience, I have made plans! O! Yes I have. But recently by the Spirit I started to learn another side of God. I make plans, stress myself out on the answers to give, how to act and react. But when the moments came to act, react, or answer, I found myself doing something I never planned for and I see people working to favour me. They don't even want to see the show I have to put up after so many rehearsals. They just qualify me and I press forward. This happened consistently for about five months and then I knew God was teaching me something. He was opening my eyes to see Him as, The God Who Goes Before Me. O! He truly does.
I cannot emphasise it enough how I love the plans of God over mine.
When God goes before you, He changes everything. He changes your plans and ushers you into your rest.
At the end of it all after God has done His thing, I find myself laughing at my plans.
It is good to make plans but if you make those plans outside God, you'd be left in uncanny suspense. It might work or it might not work. Though it may work, but you would have stressed out your life. Why live life stressfully when you could rest in the plans of a Father who loves you like no one else. I charge you to quit wasting valuable time making plans outside God.
You will not even need to fight
16 Tomorrow, march out against them. You will find them coming up through the ascent of Ziz at the end of the valley that opens into the wilderness of Jeruel. 17 But you will not even need to fight. Take your positions; then stand still and watch the Lord’s victory. He is with you, O people of Judah and Jerusalem. Do not be afraid or discouraged. Go out against them tomorrow, for the Lord is with you!” 2 Chronicles 20:16-17 (AMP)
When King Jehosaphat consulted God when his kingdom was besieged, he got painless victory as the plan of God for the battle was singing praises to Him.
You could call this a cheat to the exam questions!
Most other kings could have called the army general to prepare for battle. Swords could have been sharpened, armours could have been prepared, battle formations could have been made. But No. Jehosaphat won by praise because he went to the God who sees everyday from where He is. God showed Jehosaphat the battle formation of the enemies ahead of time. God went before His people and by obeying, they got the victory.
So dear friend I charge you to come. Come have help for your life.
Come, enter into the rest of your Father afterall He sees tomorrow from today!
